Oakton, Virginia, is a very affluent community of about 36,000 individuals in Fairfax County. Many residents commute to jobs in the nation's capital.
This part of northern Virginia was settled by those of European descent in the early 1700s. Some of those pioneers were farmers who had moved inland from the tidewater area of Virginia. In the mid-1800s, John Quincy Marr was a prominent resident of the area and owned a large estate. During the Civil War, he served as a Captain for the Confederacy and became the first Confederate officer killed while fighting in the War.

The facility features a 1,456-yard par-three course, including holes measuring 95 yards to 200 yards in length. The 78-station lighted driving range includes target greens and covered, heated tees. As a result, it is open every day of the year. except Christmas.
